From the Sports Desk: Soccer rules again...

The weather held and they won.

From the Weather Desk: Somewhere there must be rainbows. We have sun for a few minutes while a few blocks away there is storming going on; then, vise versa. It has been going on for all but two days out of the last twelve.

Last week there was a block party that I missed since I was on my way to the second of Aidan's soccer games. I got a couple of snaps on my way out our barricaded cul de sac...

Aidan's game was called due to lightening and when I returned to Quakertown, the clouds burst. Through the rain, all I could see that remained of our block party was one soaked soul pulling with all his might to roll up the deflated, sodden, bouncy house.

From the Travel Desk: Marge just returned from a 10 day stay in England. She had joined a batch of choir groupies traveling with our church's music makers who were singing there at Lincoln Cathedral each day for just over a week.

And now Marge is back and doing up her laundry to take off again tomorrow for Maryland and Virginia for some family visiting.

We heard again from Keoni over in Colorado...

He's enjoyed some wonderful climbs but got a knee cut during one. He says stitches weren't required.

Sister Susie and friend Kathy Puhr went to Michigan to stay with another friend of theirs for a few days...

All these last couple of weeks, Wendy and John have housed three young men who, along with Aidan, were taking part in the ARCONET Dalí Quartet's Music Workshops; students and fellows. I understand they even worked in some soccer. Here is a little bit of what I captured.

The final day was a concert at West Chester University. Dalí Quartet has just been hired as faculty there and next year the University will host the workshops and there will be dorms for participants. So, Wendy and John won't be housing any more young men but it's a little sad because it was an adventure in itself. Quite special getting to know these young people and sometimes their families and friends.

Pat and I went to Allentown to visit her sister who now needs special care...

Every week Pat sees her sister and also a son who now needs some family help.

If you are traveling in Pennsylvania, you will notice that road signs are often a challenge. Someone has helped clarify this one...

Everywhere I drive now the Queen Anne's Lace adorns the roadways and fields. Some of the tree species are definitely not as green as they were a couple of weeks ago. But, it's still summer, I love the trees, and I love the lace...

From the Upsizing Desk: More things gathered economically that will eventually go into an apartment at Dock. Fun seeing what is in the local shops and box stores and finding occasionally good buys on items that I know, for sure, that I'll be needing...

When I found out about "sliders" while moving stuff around here for Pat's arrival last week, it was a great big "Duh!" moment. Who knew heavy furniture could be moved with plastic thingies!
