Many Sorts of Arts

Visual, audial, architectural, horticultural, two-dimensional, three-dimensional, accidental, digital, natural--it's everywhere. Did I say audial?

Yes, it was back to Kimmel Center for the final PYO Concert of their season. As you already know, we're not supposed to video the musicians at work; not even Aidan's Grandma Groupie.

The ticket is one Keoni got for me after I forgot to get mine online. Yes, Keoni knows people.
What a treat to hear and see Aidan at his cello in live concert...

Aidan warming up before performance.

After.

It's no longer difficult to find Aidan in a large group.

Wendy.

Hard to capture this young man's smile but we almost made it.
It was beautiful music.

I was there ahead of time so was able to enjoy some of the art at Kimmel. There are fairly frequent shows of large public art pieces displayed in the huge lobby of the center. This was the last day for the lamp art. Wish it'd been dark so the lamps were lit...

In other areas...

And a permanent installation...

(And, at the Quakertown Bonton's going-out-of-business sale...)

Backing up to the Sunday a week earlier, Keoni and I and my pony Subaru headed into the city. First stop was the Whole Foods Market flagship store that is barely three blocks from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. There are two electric car hookups in its own underground parking garage. It has become a weekly Mecca for Wendy and their new pony Volt. She sits down to coffee, then shops while Aidan attends orchestra practice not too far away. Keoni and I had a snack while enjoying a great Philadelphia view.

We moved along to the art museum and took in lots of visual arts. Looking down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway from a window there...

Ben Franklin atop City Hall in the distance. "Rocky" steps just below. The street named for its founder has seen women converging here in protests, anti-gun rallies, the Eagles' Superbowl victory parade, and Pope Francis.
Sandy matted and framed one of her recent drawings...

Marge's garden continues to grow...

The resident frogs haven't shown up. But the fish are all accounted for.

Upstairs in my windowsill, one of the Tillandsia is blooming...

I talk to my plants because I miss Toby. Wendy sent over a couple of pictures of him yesterday...

Rolling in the clover.

Yes, we really are all mad here.
